Post NZGDC update
NZGDC Post event update
This week Rourke and I took Pinball Hero to the New Zealand Game Dev Conference in Wellington where lots of people played and enjoyed the game! Thank you to all who came along and checked it out! It was great fun and always a pleasure to see first-hand how people are playing the game.
Quite a few immediate issues cropped up while we were watching, so I sat in the corner of the booth and fixed things up. We managed to log and fix quite a good number of them, but a few remaining standouts are going to be the focus before we showcase the game again. These mostly revolve around screen and screen-size scaling issues, as well as controller support issues. It's been way too long since we implemented the controller support anyway so it probably deserves some love. Context object snapping would help a lot with the controller virtual cursor, and there is still an outstanding issue that has been around just about since forever where the controller virtual cursor will reset its position to the hardware mouse when screen-shake is applied. There are a sleugh of other bugs and crashes we have documented but are yet to track down so we'll be working on them this week.
As a result of the changes we've made during the event, the game deserves an update on itch so that everyone else can also benefit from them!
Thanks again for playing! - the Lazy Bones.
